  • A Weekly Pattern I:

Every morning hold Devotionals

Day 1 –

  1. Illustrate the Principle through the Symbol*
  2. Illustrate that Principle through Storytelling*
  3. Do a Foundation Builder Discovery Practice &/or one of the Simulations*

Day 2 –

  1. Do a Foundation Builder Guide Discovery Practice* – ie. Discovering through Movement
  2. Tell/Read & discuss one of the Classic Stories*

Day 3 –

  1. Do a Foundation Builder Guide Discovery Practice* – ie. Discovering through Nature
  2. Tell/Read & discuss one of the Classic Stories*

Day 4 –

  1. Do a Foundation Builder Guide Discovery Practice* – ie. Discovering through Language
  2. Tell/Read & discuss one of the Classic Stories*

(Add Principles of Arithmetic/Arithmetic practice and family reading time)

  • Weekly Pattern II:

One day a week

  1. Hold Foundation Builder specific Devotional
  2. Illustrate the Principle through the Symbol*
  3. Illustrate that Principle through Storytelling*
  4. Do a Foundation Builder Discovery Practice ie. Discovering through Language &/or one of the Simulations*
  5. Do a Foundation Builder Guide Discovery Practice* – ie. Discovering through Movement
  6. Tell/Read & discuss one of the Classic Stories*

Here is a A Monthly Pattern:

  • Every morning, Three times or Twice a Week hold Devotionals
  • One – Four days/evenings a month:
    1. Illustrate the Principle through the Symbol*
    2. Illustrate a Principle through Storytelling*
    3. Do a Foundation Builder Discovery Practice ie. Discovering through Language &/or one of the Simulations*
    4. Do a Foundation Builder Guide Discovery Practice* – ie. Discovering through Movement or Nature
    5. Tell/Read & discuss one of the Classic Stories*

 

* In everything you do, help your children connect the stories, simulations, activities, practicing or classic stories by inviting them to use their Skills of Discovery – Asking them, “What do you observe? What else do you notice? How does this relate with our story?  Does this have anything to do with ____?”
